Oxley Hwy home

Today we got up at 7am to run through the streets of Walcha it must have been about 0
degrees and I for one was finding it very hard to breath but surprise, surprise we actually ran a personal best of 3.73kms in 30mins!  Felt really good!

After brekky at our B&B we geared up ready for another big day on the road.  The temperature gauge read 5degrees as we were leaving we rode along the Oxley highway where it soon warmed up to a balmy 12degrees!  The Oxley highway is quite a good road unlike Thunderbolts way which had some very ugly sections.  How many patches on one section of road does it take for a road to cease being called a road? ha ha!! more like patchwork quilt!!

After the driving rain of yesterday the sunshine was very welcomed and even the 40+ kms of winding road and the several stops for roadworks could not ruin our day!!!

We made Long Flat Pub at about 1pm in time for lunch....What! you don't serve lunch on Fridays????!! oh well beef and gravy rolls and chips from the Long Flat shop and light beers from the pub will have to do :)

I'm sure I rode the curves better after lunch LOL!! on to Wauchope and then to the Service Centre near Port Macquarie we filled up with fuel and were soon back on the road and had decided to ride straight down the freeway I was keen to get home!  Another stretch stop at Coolongoolook and another fuel stop in good old Mez Dez and we made home just before 5pm  A very satisfying little break away!!

Watch this space for more adventures of Fish and Chips :))

yes I know this one is blurry but it just looked so comfy and cute I kept it . This is our B&B

We're at it again!!!

We left this morning at about 10:30am, and yes we are on two bikes!!! woohoo thanks to my wonderful hubby my bike is back on thr road and firing on all cylinders so to speak LOL

It's going like a dream actually!!  The weather is perfect for riding and we are just enjoying burning up the road.  After a short stop at the little service station in Booral which btw has the cleanest toilet (has complimentary sanitary products too ladies!) we roll into Gloucester and have lunch at Roadies Cafe.  The yummiest turkish bread I have ever had!!!

Another short stop to fill up my tank (smaller than Dave's) and we are back on the road.  Riding along is really quite pleasant even though the temperature has dropped to 11 degrees until we take a pit stop at Nowendoc.  Once back on the road it starts to rain a little bit and soon it is throwing it down.  It all became incredibly horrible when the rain started blowing under my helmet (I wasn't thirsty LOL), it got so dark and the rain so heavy that it was blocking my view, the temperature has dropped to 3! yes 3 degrees!! and of course I had decided not to put on my rain suit!!  About 30kms out of Walcha the rain stopped and the sun came out again and I just about dried off.  We arrived in Walcha at our accomodation Anglea House B&B and Liz our hostess took us to our room and started the gas heater.  She showed us around and then left us to our own devices.  We took off all our damp gear and organised it so it would dry around the heater and then noticed the perfectly sized peices of caramel slice which was awesome with a hot cuppa!!!

We plan to walk down to the pub for dinner a short walk to town.
