Thursday 15th May
Today we leave behind San Francisco. We are both fairly sore from our exercising yesterday, so panadol with breakfast is a must ha ha must be getting old!. We pack up and get on the road. We cross the Golden Gate bridge and stop for some photos on the Northern side (like we did with the kids back in 2000) and then we ride through Sausilito pretty little town north of SF. The road north along the coast is reminicsent of the Great Ocean road. It's a very strange day with fog rolling over the coast all day we took our warm gear off at Petaluna and had to put it back on at Bodega Bay after coffee. We thought we would have to look out for the birds but ended up having to look out for gravel!! Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" was filmed here LOL
Lunch was at Bones Roadhouse I finally had some clam chowder I'm sure it won't be the last this trip yum yum!!!
We arrive in the arty farty town of Mendocino at around 4pm, we look around the shops and buy from the handmade chocolate shop a salted caramel milk chocolate sand dollar and a dark chocolate mint slice OMG the sand dollar was to die for with sea salt on the top and caramel encased in milk chocolate it's like nothng else I've ever tasted.
Fort Bragg is our stop for tonight and it is FREEZING!!!! and there is not much around our hotel.
