For those of you that are unaware, my nickname (from David way back in 1979) is Cuddlefish and being that he was a carpenter at the time his became Chips hence now fish n chips is us! so that explains the title of this blog.
I thought that it would be somewhat simpler to post on here and then just post the link onto facebook for all to see and travel vicariously through us :) So each day of our travels (depending on internet connectivity) I will endeavour to post a bit of a blurb about the day and some pics.
There have been some adjustments to the bike and tomorrow we go to Newy to get our patches sewn onto our leather vests. I have made some bags that can be used in the hard panniers to make going to our room each night that much easier. We are waiting on some pillion footboards to arrive from the USA so would appreciate prayer for that, the pegs can get a little uncomfy after a few hours riding.
We will be staying in Blayney, then Henty and then board the Spirit of Tasmania on the 16th March arriving in Devonport early on the 17th we will be visiting a few friends along the way and then stay the first night in Stanley and visit "The Nut". From there it's off to Queenstown for 2 nights and a Gordon River cruise. Next it's on to Hobart where we will stay 4 nights at Seven Mile Beach with my Mum and Dad (timeshare resort) and visit one of my high school friends that I haven't seen for thirty years ....yes I'm that old! Then it's off to Wine Glass Bay and further north until we get back to Devonport and board the ship for home.
the two side panniers and the top box are the only luggage space we will have so we will be travelling pretty light! to get it in perspective for you the side panniers are about the size of a green shopping bag and the top box about the size of a sports bag. There is a rack on top of the top box that I think we will need to attach another small bag :)
We are very excited as we have never been to Tassie.
so until Wednesday!!!!!
