Fish n Chips Travel the world: Day 5 Stanley

Today we had breakfast at Moby Dick's breakfast bar (the hotel only serves lunch and dinner) and because we are planning to be very active a cooked breakfast was on the menu. Omlette for me and Bushman's Brekky for Dave.

We planned to walk to the chairlift and then go to the top and walk around the 'Nut' but the lift was not working at 9:30 so we walked up the very steep zigzag track although I don't think it was as steep as Uluru!! then we walked around the 2km track on top of The Nut, very spectacular views and very different from one side to the other there was even a little 'forest' up there with little paddymelons. Coming down was a bit of a challenge but easier than Uluru as I ended up sliding down on my butt!! Now because we had saved $20 not using the lift David thought it would be a good idea to spend that on chocolate ha ha!! But we restrained ourselves and bought 3 peices of choclate fudge (jaffa, caramel and macadamia) for morning tea yum yum.

We than rode out to Marawah/Green Point Beach and had lunch at the Marawah Tavern. I had a yummy steak and David had fish it was a huge meal. We then rode over to Tarkine Forest/Dismal Swamp and went down the slide into the swamp. The slide was fun but a bit scary then we walked around the swamp boardwalks for a while spotting birds and hearing frogs (tried to see the frogs but couldn't) then we walked back to the top and rode out to Smithton (nothing there LOL) and rode back to the hotel.

When we got back there I realised I didn't have my phone!!!!!!! So we rang the Tavern and the Swamp and hopefully it will be found. We had planned to get a takeaway sandwich from the cafe across the road for dinner but when we went to do it the shops were all shut!! David did our washing and then we walked down to the seafood take-away the only place open (we had calamari and scallops yum).

We went on a penguin tour and went to watch the penguins coming out of the sea back to their burrows sooo cute.

Trying not to be too bummed about my phone but it's hard cause if I don't get it back I still have to pay out the contract. So pray hard people!!!!
