There are heaps of places for motorbikes to park in Adelaide they have designated spots where you can park for free!!! although because of WOMADelaide some of the ones closest to the zoo have been designated as a temporary taxi rank!! We find parks outside the Uni which is a short walk from the zoo and make our way over to the zoo. One of the main reasons for coming to the zoo was to see the Pandas.
So we go straight to the Panda enclosure where Wang Wang (male) and Funi (female) are kept. Wang Wang is quite active and out and about but due to a phantom pregnancy Funi is a tad hormonal and is hiding in her night time enclosure. I got a few good photos of Wang Wang. There are a few sad animals at the zoo the Orangutan couple are in mourning due to a recent stillbirth (shed a few tears for them...so sad), there is an epileptic male Lion and the Macaw show could not go ahead due to the heat. I wanted to get a panda pin to go on our leather vests so we went into the Panda shop and a panda head pin silver colour with black detail $34.95 yes you are reading correctly sooo if we had got 2 it would have cost us as much as the 2 of us getting into the zoo today O.....M.....G!!!
We have a short walk through the Botanical Gardens for old times sake (we went there on our honeymoon) but it is such a hot , humid day that we only spend a short time there. Then we make our way up to Central Market and buy a fresh juice and some yummy grapes.
For dinner tonight we get frozen meals and long necks LOL and soem yummy vanilla slices.
After a nice cool shower we are all pretty shattered. Looking forward to all our ferry rides tomorrow and staying in Mt Pleasant.
