Day 3 Henty - Swifts Creek we went around the bend!!

Setting out from Henty was a gorgeous sunny day.  So even my comms not working this morning can't upset me, hopefully it just didn't charge properly.  Leigh's bike battery was flat so Dave and I push started her and it roared into life, turned out the handlebar warmers were left on.  We needed to stop in Albury as David wanted to see if the motorbike dealer had a new air filter.  No luck but they did fix his left side mirror which had been giving him grief.  Next stop was supposed to be Tarrawingen but we stopped at a rest area to 'dispose' of our fruit.  Just past Tarrawingen Dave said "I need fuel" and as I had seen him switch over to reserve I knew he meant soon.  We came upon a very small town, Everton where we stopped for fuel.

In Myrtleford we had a short stop at the Yamaha dealer which proved fruitful although they didn't have an air filter, Clint the shop assistant gave Dave some great tips.

Our next stop was Bright for lunch.  We had Subway in the park it was lovely, a bit chilly but sunny.  Due to the road over Mt Hotham being closed we had to take a detour through Mt Beauty and Falls Creek.  At Mt Beauty we went to the Medical Centre and called in to see Ang Stratton a doctor that Leigh and I  worked with at Maitland.  She and her family are loving living and working in Mt Beauty.  Then we drove up to Falls Creek oh my goodness it was freeeeeezing!!!!  up there sooo cold.  Part way dowen the mountain we stopped in at The Blue Duck Inn (Blue Duck in mining terms being a dud) and had hot chocolate I asked for a shot of rum in mine mm yum :)

On the way down the mountain we got stuck behind a large group of very slow moving motorbikes, after following them for quite sometime Dave asked Leigh if she was game enough to try and overtake them but when we tried it was too dangerous so we pulled over to talk and wait for a minute just as we were about to go back onto the road a school bus went past, a little way down the road the bus pulled over so we could pass just as we did our back brakes failed maybe overheated but now we only have front brakes oops.  We finally got past all the slow bikes and then less than a kilometre down the road there was a fork in the road they went one way we went the other ha ha!!  Then it was straight onto Swifts Creek we are staying a a B&B called Bella Vita and when we arrive there id no sign of Trevor our host so we go to the pub for dinner.  I had a lamb and rosemary pie served in a pastry dish with mash and greens mmmm, Dave had a chicken dish with avocado/bacon/sour cream and sweet chilli sauce it looked yum too, Leigh wasn't very hungry so she had a salad and garlic bread she said the dressing was very yummy.

We came back to the B&B and still no sign of Trevor but David had remembered  he said to make ourselves at home which we did and promptly let the dogs out big oops!!!  David went for a walk up river and could hear dogs barking and saw rabbits scurrying away so maybe they are off chasing rabbits oopsies hopefully they return before Trevor does!
