Another bright sunshiny day we set off early at 7:30am as our plan is to have breakie at Lorne. Riding along the Great Ocean Road on this glorious day is so wonderful. At one point Leigh was so excited to said what a gawesome day so that became the word of the day :P
Breakfast at Lorne bacon & egg rolls for us and fruit salad for Leigh and coffees and juice.
Then it's onto Apollo Bay and we stop for a nature break and to look at souveniers and post a gift to the folks back home LOL
On the road again and we stop at Lavers Hill for fuel but they have none but it's time for another coffee we meet this amazing couple who are riding bicycles from Geelong VIC - Broome WA raising money for 2 Ugandan Villages take a look around their site (https://sites.google.com/site/pedalsoffaith2013/) and if you feel lead to give go for it! Carmel is super passionate about the cause of Ugandan villages and did a solo ride in 2012 from Phillip Is VIC - Cairns QLD and raised $13,500.
Next stop is the 12 Apostles although there are only 7 now. Then we stop in Port Campbell for a quick bite and then off to the Arch, London Bridge (which fell down January 15th 1990) and The Grotto. God's creation is amazing and the ravages of time are obvious on this stretch of coastline.
The ride over to Port Fairy through Warnambool takes about an hour and we arrive about 5:30 pm. Buy some groceries for breakfast and then walk around town to look for somewhere to eat and decide on Kung Fu Restarant which serves asian food it was yum with Jasmine tea.
Then we walked over to Griffiths Is to watch the shearwater birds come in to roost for the night. There is a HUGE folk music festival in town this coming weekend and you should see the set up for it!!! wow what an extravaganza!!
