Day 9 Mt Gambier - Hahndorf our first ferry

We started out early today to avoid what was forecast as a hot day.
We drive to Millicent and then Kingston.  At Kingston we stop for morning tea and park under an information board roof (because it starts to spit rain as we pull up) while we go to the nearby servo for coffee and a nature stop.

After morning tea we put on our rain gear and it rains for about 20 mins and then stops and becomes VERY humid so we stop at Salt Creek on The Coorong to take off our gear.

Next stop is Meningee for petrol and we decide to push on for Tailem Bend for lunch.

We are all looking forward to spending some time in the airconditioning for lunch and when we see a servo with Subway we decide to stop there, halfway through getting our sandwiches made we realise it's hotter in the servo than outside!!  The girls serving behind the counter said that their electricty was out and that they had no a/c.... oh well we finished our lunch and set off for Hahndorf.

Onc in Hahndorf Leigh and I went for a swim to cool off while Dave washed the bike.  After showers we looked at the shops, I bought a beautiful skirt and some lovely earrings.

Dinner tonight was at The Hahndorf Inn Leigh had vegetarian Mousaka and David and I had Six Sausage Combo with potato, sauerkraut and petzel and a 500ml stein of German beer each mmmmmm we had to go for a walk so we didn't feel so full ha ha.

A skype session with Mum and Dad topped off a lovely day.
