Kentucky Bound

Tuesday 15th July

For breakfast this morning we were given a coupon and told to take it up the road to the Best Western restaurant so we go up there and the woman server sees us walking in and says "come sit over here, did you stay with us last night?" and when we answered "No we have these coupons" she said "oh you have to take those to the front desk" so we did and the woman gave us two peices of paper, which we then took back to the server and handed them to us.  She then showed us the buffet and said "help yourselves"  and then disappeared, I thought she must have been going to get the coffee pot.  We ate our cereal and still no coffee, so David went to find her and she was standing behind the wall and almost jumped when he asked her for some coffee.  Considering the lack of service breakfast was quite good even for a buffet.
It was spotting rain but when stayed in our jeans and were on our way we rode for 120 miles before we stopped for fuel and morning tea.  As we were leaving it was looking like rain but again we just stayed in our jeans (ie NOT waterproof) less than a mile down the road after our stop it started to pelt down rain.  It was so quick it ran down my helmet and jacket and straight into my NOT waterproof crotch LMAO!!!! it only lasted a few minutes but we were both soaked down below!!! ha ha
We started to dry out once the rain stopped and then as we passed through Charleston it started to rain again ha ha
As we passed over the Kentucky border the sun came out and stayed out.  We stopped for lunch and were both a little damp.  By the time we arrived in Lexington we were pretty much dry.  Our accomodation is great with a kitchen, so looking forward to some meals in and some rest days.  We contacted Jamie-lea and went to visit her in her home with Zev & Noah.  They are beautiful boys and we arrange to catch up for lunch tomorrow so we can see Anyerin too.
We go to Krogerfor some supplies.  Hungry man dinners woot woot, ice cream woohoo, cheese/olives/crackers, beer ($8.99 for a six pack!) and shampoo/conditioner as we were walking to the checkout a gentleman employee approached us and gave us some catfish already in a bag ready to cook with lemon and spices,  it was a promotion of the cook-in bags.  Then at the checkout the attendant asked if we had a discount card when we said no he produced one from under the register and swiped it giving us a hefty discount very friendly!!
It was great to eat at home tonight and catch up with washing and blogging.
Charleston capitol building pretty eh?

gah heading for more rain
