Smithsonian sojourn

Tuesday 8th July

Today we ran for the first time in ages.  We ran down and zigged zagged using the crossings as they became 'live' and made our way to the monument and the reflecting pool.  To the War Memorial and looked at the Lincoln Memorial.  What an amazing man he was, he achieved so much as the President of the USA.

Then we had breaky at Maccas.  Because it's not too expensive and you always know it's fresh and you know what you'll get.

After breakfast we walk down the road and find a farmers market and buy a yummy peach each.  Then we go to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and then the Museum of American History both really interesting and free to look at.  I think it might be in the high 80's

We walked back up town just in time for the World Cup game and sat drinking $3 heineken and eating amazing Thai food some of the best we've had.  Who'd have thunk Germany would win 7-1???

We got back to the room just as a big storm hit.  We have organised a new back tyre for the bike from J C Motors our friend Mike has been fantastic sending us stuff along the way.
